Words of Encouragement
Words of Encouragement
尊敬する人の、人生に対する励ましの言葉
I came across one of my old notebooks on Thursday when I was doing a little spring cleaning of my house. I noticed the following memo I had scrawled on a page of it during my harrowing time years ago.
It goes:
「My favorite saying by a person I respect:
Remember, no effort that we make to attain something beautiful is ever lost.
何か素晴らしいことを達成するための努力というものは、
決して無駄にならないということを忘れないように。
Helen Keller
(1880–1968)
Whenever I get disappointed and overwhelmed by something inescapable in life, I will recall these words by one of my respecters and say to myself: What’s been eating you? You can see, hear, and talk, compared to Helen, who could not see, could not hear, and could not talk.」
(Re)Reading this message, I was able to (re)make up my mind. Thank goodness!
